RestorationsThere have been some top quality restoration jobs on the forum lately. Do you have a particular restoration that you are proud of? One that everything you touched on it turned to gold?

My 1953 SE2, unpainted firebox as I can't find a gloss black that will stand the burner temperatures. Only one I've found is Halfords VHT exhaust paint and its matt.

One of my best was not a toy but an 1890's 1/2 hp Sipp steam engine.
I wish I had photos from when I first got it as it was a lot more rusty looking.
Here it is running on steam at a show in 2005.

AND.......... Here it is after restoration.
My machinist/toolmaker friend Don helped me with some machine work
and I did all the cosmetic work and final assembly, painting and detail.

Looks nice! I'd love to get my hands on a small "real" engine like that.
