just over 13 Miles long it took about 1hour 20 mins to Blaenau Ffestiniog and about 50 mins going back to Porthmadog

no idea Lewis, It was my first time on there. It would be interesting to find out though.

well that is interesting Lewis I wonder if it was a base coar ready for the Green as the green has the stripes on it too.
I see from your pics the engine had the crest on the side when it was black though. So still a few unanswered questions.

You might find that they did the black first and then the green on top of that and then the lining.

Now why couldn't I have had weather like that when I visited the Ffestiniog?!
Some cracking pics Paul, I see you travelled on the right side of the train for the pics
Earl of Merioneth was just restored when you visited Lewis, and it was in black during running in and until a space opened up in the paintshop (I think it looked better in plain black!)
