Robertosala's Table. Now Complete. Finished.Sorry for being late but we are still working for the emergency here in El Salvador.
Here is my table. Small, but has got nice samples.
All are of the most commercial brands that came to the market in the late 80 years. No strange brands too. All are well known ones and many are still available.
I do not have the economical means to invest large sums to purchase new engines so, 90% of all my engines were bought in very, very, very poor shape and at economical prices.
All those engines were restored to original glory with a lot of hard work, hours of elbow grease, patience to find the right hand mix of colors to find the exact original color, a few unavailable chimneys were made entirely by hand (old Fleischmann ones) and in some cases, needed parts were found or sent to me with the help of fellow members of our brotherhood here in this forum of ours. Otherwise it would have been impossible for me to put together this collection. All this engines are in good working order in all respects.
Hope with all my heart you enjoy this small display I've put together for you and hope to still be on time before closure of the event.
Sincerely.
Rob.
First. German Engines:
Wilesco R200 (1958-1968)
Wilesco D5 (1965). This was won on Bugsy's Chocolate Wheel Christmas Give Away. Came from Sweden. Thanks Phil! It is being enjoyed here at home and the engine is also enjoying warmer climate. This has not been restored and is kept as it came. Only improvement is the whistle handle. It was burned out in the shape of a closed fist. it was made out of wood and to exact measurements. I made a wood lathe simulation by using a hand drill and a file in order to make the handle.
Fleischmann 120/1 (1968) Not restored.
Came without chimney nor burner.
Chimney was made entirely (embossed and oven painted) by hand.
Fleischmann 120/2 (1954). Partially restored. This came with the whistle and SV welded in place and clogged up by hard water. Had to open the endcaps to free both part out. Had to learn how to soft weld. The SV was gone due to corrosion. Mogogear built an SV pin for me out of brass on his lathe. Now working in all respects. Thanks Greg (Mo)!
No burner and no chimney. The one you see there was embosed by hand. Thanks to the guys who sent me the measurements.
Fleischmann 105/1 (1954) Boxed. Came complete with burner and chimney. Even with instructions booklet! Was cleaned and the external lacquer removed. It is now pure brass hand cleaned.
Flesichmann 122/4 (1963). This one came in pristine condition. Never fired!. Boxed with all original accessories and documentation. Very powerful engine. I run it with gas.
Wilesco D141 (1980's). Came in pristine condition but full of corrosion. It's owner never run it and never even opened the bag of Esbits and accessories. The whole base was full of corrosion spots. Had to paint it entirely (only the base). This is a joy to run. Wilesco's best in production today.
Improvements: Yes! Added the Dynamo you see in this picture and the workshop light. This engine has power to spare even with the addition of the extra load imposed by the dynamo
My next table is my accessory table Hope you are not tired.

Rob, your engines are gorgeous and a testament to your hard work bringing them to like new condition. I am particularly impressed with your creation of Fleischmann chimney, going so far as to emboss them!

Not to worry. I dump all heavy water in the nearest river.
Here is my Atomic style engine table:
Wilesco R200 from the 50's and John Ericsson from the 70's:
John Ericsson and accessories. I bought this one with the help of Bugsy.
Accessories came later, all the way from Sweden too .
Still remember when the box came. I ran home in my motorcycle the fastest I could. I wish I had a Kawasaki Ninja 750 or better at the time. I still have a 250 Chinese bike
This accessories are as hard to find. Is like trying to find Tarzan's (of the Apes) mother in NY. Thank you Phil!
John Ericsson engines come with nice safety features. Love it! :
Wilesco R200.
The base was restored (from corrosion), the whistle handle was missing so I made it out of wood using my professional wood lathe (my hand drill, file and sand paper). Thanks for the measurements Andreas (KMV).
This engine came with the bottom endcap full of dezinc and was loosing all heavy water pressure.
It was made in thick copper by Dennis (Scorpion2nz) and is now working better than factory designed.
The centrifugal governor was sent by Laurie (Fruitfly) from Melburne.
This engine is so beautiful and is very international now.
Had to wait for a month to receive the parts from my two friends NZ and Aussie.
Here is the R200 being used in my bike:
Missing in this collection.... Linemar Atomic Engine Reactor (Japan).
Maybe some day...
Next table.... Mamod.

This is my Mamod table:
I love the mobiles. Well made.
This one came from the Forum Birthday Photo Contest.
Thanks to the Judges and to Sandy (Sandman)
Was only cleaned. It is being kept and loved all original.
TE1A:
MM2. Yes, full of dezinc. I am dealing with the disease again.
Last time with dezinc was the SE2A. I modified a boiler from an old SE2. Added the whistle (SE2 do not come with whistle), installed it in replacement for the SE2A boiler and sold it locally. Now is the turn of this MM2.
Next table.... Kettle table. Yeap, Jensen!

Jensen Table.
Here is my Jensen collection. All of them are cast engines with heavy flywheels except for the vertical:
Jensen 10 (1951 single year production). Restored.
This engine came in extremely poor shape. Ready to go to the trash bin. A sense of satisfaction comes to me every time I run this beauty.
Always self start. The magnet makes it stop in a position from it always start without any help from the operator.
The generator is made from a solid single piece of magnetic iron. Superb!!!
Jensen 25 Cast (1953).
This engine was on display in a museum during all its life.
Never ran before. Came in pristine condition.
Jensen 55 (1970-1973). Restored. Removed the pink paint from the firebox.
Always self start as a good double piston. One cylinder was not working. Had a stiff cylinder piston.
Had to open it and align it correctly to fix the problem.
Hand mixed different colors to find the right greenish tone used by Jensen on the engine base. It is a beauty.
Produces a hypnotic feeling to see the double cylinder working so smoothly at low RPMs. Fantastic engine!
Jensen 35 (1949). Restored.
Jensen 45 (1952). Restored. Brass boiler vertical.
Jensen 20G (2009). The biggest Jensen still factory available today.
Massive piston/cylinder, heavy flywheel, highly efficient immersion heater, lots of power to spare.
Removed the pink paint. Mixed the colors to match the factory blue and retouched the cast iron engine frame.
It is so nice to see all those chimneys lined up. Industrial Revolution again?
Next super big table...... Australian Steam Engines.

Thank you for sharing it !

Thank you Gil.
Yes, a lot of work on this.
Adore this Jensens. Built to last many lifetimes!!!
Too bad still have two missing in this table.
My Jensen 25 hobby with Jensen Cast generator (looks like the Jensen 10-1961) and a Jensen 70 (1973-1975). Both are at my office. Usually I run them during lunch (the 25 was the one I left it run out of water remember?). Won't make it on time to add them
That Jensen cleaned up well. No other brand would have survived that punishment. No way

glad you and Liz like them!!! In honor to all Australians:
Here is my Australian super super big table!!!!
Ben Peake Micro. Received as a fine gift from Laurie (Fruitfly).
I have ran this beauty with compressed air from a Dust Can (to clean your computer). It sounds like a humming bird.
It turns out all heads to it and people gather around me to see it run. It was a big attraction at my office. Thank you Laurie!!!
Will soon film it with steam but need to procure myself of a modified Jensen whistle (as shown by Roger on his website) and use Jensen boiler to provide steam.
Well... that's it .... for the Australian Table.
Next table... Restoration Pics.

The engines you saw before, were not like that originally.
They were all, with a couple of exceptions, bought on eBay.
Came in very poor shape.
Here a few pictures of how they came.
Warning! Images are extremely graphic. Not for the cardiac or faint of heart. Viewer discretion is advised :
Fleischmann 120/2
Before. Whistle and SV welded by hard water:
They now look better. Chimneys were hand made/embossed from tin material.
Jensen 35:
Before:
After facelift, paint, elbow grease, complete new sight glass hardware and a new cast wheel:
Jensen 45:
From:
After:
Jensen 55.
Stiff cylinder as main failure. Ran only on one piston:
From:
After:
Upgrade from Jensen 25 Hobby to Jensen 25G (similar to the Jensen 10-1961).
This engine is at my office. didn't make it on time to put it on my table.
As Received:
After elbow grease and new color match paint:
Jensen 70. This engine is also at my office.
Before:
After:
Fleischmann 105/1
Received:
After:
Jensen 20G
From:
To:
Jensen 100.
Scratched out tools. Disassembled each tool completely to repaint. Color match to Jensen Red.
Now looks cleaner:
Mamod SE2A.
Received.
After:
Mamod Minor 2.
Received.
After a few minutes in the time machine:
Wilesco D141:
As received. Never used before but was left to rust by last owner.
Had a problem with shaft threads. Were all gone. Factory fault???
Maybe, this was the reason it was never used.
Never used:
After. Base painted to match color. Added Wilesco Dynamo:
Wilesco R200.
Received in good external shape:
But it had dezinc.
Endcap was dissolving in my hands.
New endcap made by Scorpion2nz
Endcap now installed. Perfect match.
Cleaning up a little:
My very special wood lathe. Working on missing steam valve handle:
Engine base now repainted:
A happy engine now:
Jensen 10-1951.
Received with signs of had been loved all its life:
Needed a bath:
New Heater:
New sight glass blocks and complete hardware:
A little facelift:
Starting to take shape with a good color match and a little work on the wood base... ahhh and a new light post:
Looks happier now. Everything looks better when it is nice and clean!
An old lady like this one deserved it!!!
Thanks to my family for all their patience during this long restoration sessions
Rob.
