Royal Mail - Greatest farce to existIt's either because I am impatient or Royal Mail are not doing their job properly (when have they ever?). I should have received my RS3 set and a book via the post by now. Cheque's have cleared, checked that they have been posted, nothing. Should have been here by Friday. It is now Tuesday and still nothing. My dad received his Transit magazine today, when he should have received it Friday. So my things should be here by the end of the week. Can Royal Mail please clean up their act, no wonder all these companies that distribute large amounts of mail at a time are now going for private companies, does my nut in

Must be slow in your area MTA
I've never had anything arrive too late... but it's damn annoying!
I hope they turn up soon!

There have been suggestions from time to time that entities such as Royal Mail & OZ Post should be entirely privatized. This may be good for the city but, because of distance, the country/bush will miss out badly and prices will rise dramatically. Either that or you end with a second rate service as price reduction through competition leads to less deliveries.
Cheers

I've never had any real trouble with the royal mail. At least if you are out it is relatively easy to get things redelivered.
Other couriers can be a nightmare. We ordered a vacuum cleaner over the internet once (I know, strange thing to buy on the net, but it was a heck of a lot cheaper than a shop). We were out when they tried to deliver, and the only choice given was to drive blinking miles to their distribution depot and pick it up (not easy as we didn't have a car at the time). Wife gave them merry hell on the phone, and they then decided to redeliver, but blinking hassle.
Royal mail don't do a bad job really. And I am always amazed how cheap it is to post a letter from one end of the country to another.
Now I have gone and said nice things about them...
There was a blinking postal strike on Friday MTA, which is probably why things are late. Unfortunately the people strike without realising that all they are doing is making their own job twice as difficult the following day as they then have twice the mail to deal with

I have never had any problems with Royal Mail, on the whole they provide a decent service.
As for the private courier services, that is a completely different story, as usually they don't deliver, using the excuse that they could not find where I live.

Yes, the entire point of a company is to make big profit, which would cock up everyones live's, because it would be mutch dearer.

Chris,
Here the strike didn't finish until 12pm on Monday for some reason. We still got post in drips and drabs during the strike though

Royal mail workers strike over pay, hours, weight of bags, amount of letters they have to deliver, distance they have to travel.
All they ever do is moan!
