hello,

yes, all you need to use is a leather punch to cut the right size hole then trim with scissors.
Wallace

That's a great idea.

I have made ones out of gasket material before, using that method

The inner tube sounds better though.

I'm Just looking for suitable rubber to make flatbase feet from
Titan

How well do they stand the heat?
steamyman

heat's no problem (hot water)
SPOKESMAN

Nice idea.

I was going to ask the same question, does it not melt under the heat of the burner/boiler?
oldstuff

Good tip, Steamyman...I'll be trying that one!

If your handy with an Exacto knife, you can cut them from rubber stoppers bought
at the hardware store...save the stubs to use as rubber bungs for Mamod wick burners.

I did this to make feet for the pig2 engine, but I used a Dremel cutoff wheel and
it didn't make a very smooth cut...I think an Exacto knife or single edged razor
blade may do a better job of it.

Thanks for that mate

I have some conveyor belt rubber, but it's way too thick

As was the rubber matting we use at work on wooden steps

I'll go have a look at the hardware store later
