Rule Britannia

Or how I spent a cold Saturday afternoon at Chester.

Ex BR 7MT 4-6-2 Britannia with the Euston-Chester-Euston Cathedrals Express.

First attempt at posting photos to the forum so fingers crossed it all works.

Oops! I still obviously have a bit to learn about posting photos. Hope they are ok now but still not sure what I did wrong. I'll be keeping an eye on them!

"Rule Britannia, Britannia rule the rails !"   Really an impressive engine the BR # 70000 and nicely caught on the photos. Taking good rail pictures is kind of an art form I suppose.

That's Driver Ray Poole in the last picture, very much a "regulator in the roof" kind of driver, makes for very entertaining and noisy trips!

I went up on the train, 30 minutes late leaving Euston, 3 minutes early through Nuneaton  

Here's one I took shortly after arriving in Chester

Ray Poole really is a good driver!!!! Heard alot about him and got a dvd with him driving 45407 and its a good dvd!!!

Unfortunately I didn't get there to see her arrive-Sainsburys beckoned Saturday morning.

Soungs like you had a great run. I didn't get any trips in this year, normally manage about three.
