Runnig the 1960s Wilesco D8Hi
as youtube is not availlable to me I try to attach a video file.
You can see that there ist still a lot of friction somewhere in the engine. I am happy that she runs at all.
Here is the link to the page if the file upload does not function. The video is at the bottom of the page

Looks to be in excellent condition for a 1960er
Maybe its not "Run in" yet .

Looks like a nice engine.
I thought it might be priming but it doesn't look like it. No water pooling up below the piston
How does it feel to turn by hand? Maybe try loosening the spring carefully? Not too much as I wouldn't like to hear you tried that but lost a part due to it coming undone
Edit: That is running very similar to my SE1 that I had probs with recently. It ran fine, then the next run it went like that. Turned out to be a partially blocked steam line. I backflushed it with a syringe.

If I just tap the Flywheel it turns smoothly more than one round. You are surely right. It seems to be a partially blocked steam pipe. in the first two steam ups it moved not a mm and at the end of the second try I lifted the cylinder. With a popping sound a yellowish white "sauce" shot out of the end of the steam pipe. I filled the boiler with vinegar until it dripped out of the end of the steam pipe. I will see tomorrow if that was useful. If not I will try your method. Thanks fo letting me know.
The 1950s engine shows the same symptoms but the vinegar did not work.
