safe to have Christmas lights in an office environment?

I'm thinking of taking some battery powered lights to my workplace, but I'm afraid they'd get damaged and or stolen.

any suggestions would be wonderful.

must be a sign of the times we live in, because my very first thought on seeing this topic was that you were concerned about possible issues deriving from being politically incorrect in the workplace..

*sigh*

My part of the world is a lot less fun than it used to be, evidently...

Stolen? where I work I could happily leave £50 lying on my workbench and no one would touch it! we are like a big happy family!
there is over 240 people where I work too! and everyone has access to the machine shop where I work.

going back to trimmings we have a big box of tinsel we put up over the cnc machines! and a nice tree with lights for by the office!

Doubt we will be doing anything christmassy at college If anything it would be drawing a christmas tree by hand to within a tolerance of 0.001mm

Need to develop a taste for something no one would like or leave a trap lunch in the fridge, say a tuna sandwich full of cat food tuna.
Wait for it to disappear and then let everyone know what was in the sandwich.
The person who goes green and runs to the toilet is the lunch thief.

I used to get black olives on my subs at work, because our sledge'n'cutting-torch mechanic hated olives with a passion. He'd gank most anything else, however.

The only time I ever had things stolen from me at work was when I was the boss. People must think that the Boss is made out of money.
IF someone is stealing Food, I would look the other way, or pack a second sandwich, nothing like sharing.
