Safety valves, threads and gaugesG'day guys---
1 Can anyone tell me what the size and rate of the various threads are on the Mamods [safety valve, whistle and level plug]
2 What pressure shoud the SV lift?
3 Can I screw a pressure gauge into the whistle fitting on my SR1s

I believe there is a thread about that in the reference section, a section well worth looking through, all kinds of useful info.

The pressure release of Mamod Safety valve is 15psi (15.something anyway).
I once tested a few, and found some didn't open until near 20psi

Thanks for that Wallace, any idea where I can by a 1/4" gauge over here?---

A safety gauge mate?
The only ones I have seen are these on ebay. It reads up to 80psi, so the increments might be a bit too largel to really notice 15psi? They look good though

But you'll need an adaptor. Clinton might be able to help you as he gets a model engineer place to make his whistle adaptors (I think)
Another option is try Forestclassics in the UK. I am sure they sell gauges to suit Mamods. Might not be too bad cost wise.
