Sandmans Other Mersey

Decided to fire up my other Mersey today as I plan to start getting down to cleaning up my backlog.

All I did was give all moving parts a good oiling and replaced the wicks with MF Steams super wick.

The engine went like a dream. I couldn't fault it in any way.

I was really lucky to get this one as I've not seen many with the gearing arrangement.

I've not seen one like it either, but it's such a nice engine  

Will look great when you've cleaned it up too!

I get the distinct feeling I should get another Mersey for my collection now, I don't know why

The former owner put the insulation on Tom.

I think I'll leave it.

Just a cursory clean for this one.

I want to preserve it the way it is.

Your Mersey is a sweet little runner Sandy.  I too like that insulation wrapping...might experiment with that myself.
