SE2 restoredThis is my first engine that I've stripped and repainted. Must do some more now that I have some paint. Very happy with the end result and I always thought the SE2 was one of the best value engines.

very nice.what paint did you use on the base and firebox?

the firebox is barbq stuff and the rest came from Halfords, I can't remember the colours as they are at work. Can have a look next week if you'd like.

Congrats, I find that engines I've fixed I get greater pleasure out of running compared to ones that didn't need any work.

Looks great that.
I like the SE2's with the union nut on the boiler, makes them so much easier to strip and clean if you aren't great at re-soldering pipes that may of come off.
