SE2a restoration

A few weeks ago, in this thread, I purchased a SE2a from made in England, it arrived after about 3 weeks and this is what I found in the parcel

Pretty rough, but exactly as described, so the restoration began.

It came apart quite easily and I started cleaning

The painted parts were all too far gone to simply clean up, so I attacked tham with a wire brush, 2 coats of primer then 3 coats of top coat. I used a matt VH paint for the base and firebox, and a vehicle paint for the engine frame.

Re-assembly began and this is how we finished up

Maybe a bit of inspiration for those guys who like me don't have a workshop

Apart from the spraying, which happens on a very small bench in the garage, everything else happens on the desk!

And finally.....it runs beautifully

Thanks for selling me the engine mate, I really enjoyed this one---
