Were they Plywood? My Bowman box is solid wood. I know that the Bowman is a little older, but I would think that they used real wood

My Mersey's base is made from plywood, so it would have been around at the time.

As to whether Mamod used plywood for boxes at the time, only those with the bible know

*looks at bible*

doesn't look much like ply to me.
Les Marsh

Looking at the picture in the bible the sizes are ,

Slightly bigger than the base and slightly higher than the chimney or the lubricator, whichever is the higher.

It looks as if the two thicker sides are proper wood and the other two sides, the top and the bottom are ply.

LMAO!

The SE3 box and SE4 box will be the same! I'll ask him
johnreid

I think it says in the Bible

Quote:

And he said to James, Maketh thine SE4 box from proper wood, although Thou mighteth be permitted to maketh use of Wood of the Ply variety for two of thine sides.
No go forth and maketh thine drawing for the May EOM
And it then rained for 40 days and 40 nights

I believe that the Flat Cap is not going to be used for the May EOM drawing, instead the drawing will be done from the SE4 Box!
