SEL Collection StartedAfter getting my fist SEL, a twin 1550, I thought I would get a few more,
My first SEL twin, the one I originally had a lot of trouble with, in this thread,
http://modelsteam.myfreeforum.org/about8258.html
It's now fixed and runs beautifully.
Ny 1540, double sided base model, this is the one I made the new wick holder for,
http://modelsteam.myfreeforum.org/about9835.html
My second 1550 twin, in original condition with box, instruction leaflet and accessories,
This is the one that said in the insruction that it didn't have an SV, but it does,
An interesting accessory is this wick holder, to aid in the remocval of the hot burner,
Seen insitu, in conjunction with the burner, ther is a little tab on the bottom which is supposed to slide up the wires to aid in holding the wick holder, but it doesn't do so at the moment.
I also have some accessories coming including a boxed lineshaft, I wil put them up in this thread when they arrive.
Cheers

Wow what a great little collection you have there Chris!
Very interesting to see the burner removal tool! Never seen one like that before. The forum is going through an SEL craze
Note the "Quality products" on the box....hmmm

Hmmm, is right I had to resolder a number of pipe joints on both the 1550 an the 1540. I've only had to do that once with all the Mamods I have, and I think that was partly my fault,
Cheers

I had to solder a tab which holds the boiler to the firebox on. Plus one pipe on the Minor.
I also need to do a thread on the Standard and a steam dome and pipe on the Junior
They aren't strong... in their day I suppose a poor mans Mamod they must have been cheaper anyway!
Enough work to keep me busy, but they are interesting little things!

That's really interesting Chris
I have never seen a wick holder before and the instructions (re the SV) are fascinating. A unique find

Very nice collection, and although I have seen the wick tool before, I have upto now never known what it was for.
