sel paintsI have recently aqquired another sel minor today
it has the closed 4 sides bases
what colour should it be ? red or green ?
also what paint type ?

I have seen them in both colours.
On one of mine that I restored I used septone "bright red" engine enamel and was pleased with how it came up.

well i have paint stripped the base and there are original trases of green so it would have been a green base
anyone know what green to use ?

go to model shop they sell enamel paint in small tins and find the nearest green to the original green.
That what i normally do wilkison also sell enamel paint.
if you buying tins of paint i advice using an airbrush to spray it on it leave you with a much better finish

Just go to Halfords, and I reckon it's brunswick green

Just had a look at mine and it's lighter than a Brunswick green.

im using brookland green on mine slightly darker than the original but i suppose the shades would have varied.
they had no brunswick green at my halfords

You can only really get car paint from Halfords, not traction engine paint

our steam lorry was origonally mid brunswick green aswell

Humbrol used to do a Brunswick Green as one of my boats is that colour.
