Shopping sites??

Ok more Newbie info requested.

I have found some- but just in case I haven't found the obvious ones that all you pro's buy from......

Sites to buy steam related parts?

Marine related for prop's, couplers etc - stuff for the boats ....

And for the US located members are there any located here ( other than Jensen - which I have)- --I wouldn 't mind saving a little money not always shipping form the UK.....

Mo, I've heard good things about Tower Hobbies.

http://www.towerhobbies.com/

Here in the UK I tend to use Hobbies of Dereham....yes, the same firm that Bowman made engines for.

I haven't tried any, the only one I have found is:
http://www.toysteam.net/
I am sure you have found this one, my only other option would be ebay.
IndianaRog

I've bought a lot of RC stuff from Tower Hobbies online and been very satisfied...they are a US firm so shipping will be minimal and they do carry model boat props, couplings and the like.

Greg,

I bought my Elliot Bay Steam Launch from Tower Hobbies:

http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&P=SM&I=LXTR91

Of all the sites I looked at their's seemed to explain the complete set up most thoroughly.  Nevertheless, I still ordered by phone to make sure I understood it all.

Many sites just showed the boat kit without mentioning that the engine and RC unit were not included.

Westbourne Models is only 15 minutes from where I live.
And they do have a lot on display, you don't just go and buy and leave, you have to stay and look.

Dangerous stuff having a model shop so close     That's why my partner forbids me from entering them

That is one of four in a five mile radius.

There is no resisting that kind of temptation
Bogstandard

There is nothing like looking thru a model mag and finding a model shop.

Suggesting to her indoors, that for a day out we should try this place, we haven't been there before.

And the surprised look you put on when you find it and say, 'Wow, I didn't know they had a model shop here, lets go in and have a look'.

In the end she just used to say, 'Why not go out with your mates instead and make a day of it'.

It is nice when they understand your fetish, and I always brought back a little something just for her (and a big something for me).
