I like this alot
Klaus Lutz

I have a 1540 but I would like to have the other three stationary engines too. I got her from Mooseman and I am happy with her. She helped me to learn how to handle meth burners correctly.

Klaus
scorpion2nz

I have a meager collection of SEL by any ones standards

the box belongs to the 1540 and the 1530 needs a piston, level plug and it would like an original flywheel

Les

I have one or two.

Les

These two have arrived since that picture was taken, the burner is going to be a donor for my Quality Models engine.

Arr, lol.

I could be here a while lol:

Les

Me as well.

James Staley

My favourite are the two little red boxed sel tools. I've never seen anything like them before and don't think you'd see another set. So glad I got them but paid alot for them back then, and at the time I thought I'd regret it.
James Staley

Have you painted your sel boat engine or is it original?
Les

It is original condition as are all the other SEL engines.

Very nice! I managed to get one a couple of weeks ago after a years search. The box is brilliant but the engine has unfortunately lost all of its paint. I'm going to tidy the pipes up when I get round to it but dont think I will paint it.

belugawhaleman

Sad to say-I have no SELs. You really don't see a lot for
sale in the U.S.. I like the looks of them. They look
like solid compact little engines

I don't personally, but that reminded me that I have 2 of these

These were pretty expensive in their day at 25/- in 1948 -- a flatbase MM1 cost 21/3 then

James Staley

Oooooohhh!!! I do like the boxed lineshaft!! If you ever want to sell it please let me know!

Just finished collection the range of engines now, and now starting on collecting the tools. Why do you have 5 table saws and four fans! Lol

Wow! I got mine about a year ago on eBay for silly money in the opposite direction. I didn't think I had a chance and bid on both -- from the same seller.

I got one for £6.62 but had to shell out a  whopping £8.83 for the other one.
