Showmans TE - Needs a dateWell after 3 weeks in the post (thanks to the strike) it finally arrived. Gave it a good clean today, but its in such good nick it hardly needed it. Box is in perfect nick as well, never been fired so looks like it was an unwanted present as some time in its history.
Don’t know about where you are in the country but it’s been a stunning day down here in Hampshire, so I took some outside snaps to take advantage of the light.
Anyone help me putting a date in this one - it’s got the coloured scuttle and coloured lights.

Very Nice! When will you be steaming it?

That's nice!
I think it will be about 2004-5 like that type.
Under the firerbox, there should be a sticker with the date on it!

I wish you all would refrain from posting pictures like that, because I cant afford one right now and all those pictures do is make me want one.
I think that looks real nice, something to be proud of. IF you do run it, I hope you have video capabilities because I would LOVE to see one running.

Dang you anyhow, now I want one all the more.
I really dont have a place to run Mobiles, as I have a gravel Driveway, but they still fascinate me the most.

Don't care what some people say about them, I think they are one of the best new models around!

Forgot to mention If I was as handsome as a Showmans TE, I wouldnt have to worry about getting dates.
I also noticed that the Generator/Dymo whatever that goes with that engine is only like $20 at ministeam, a big temptation for a freestanding accessory.

P.S i thought the older ones had the coloured scuttle? Might be wrong though

Thats mint by the look of it.I see it has steering mechanizm under neath but no steering wheel, is this correct

That's the oldest style of Showmans. It's the same as mine. The model dates from 2001 (at the earliest) and maybe goes to about 2004 / 5 when the scuttle became black and the lights became all white.
Love it. A TE in its Sunday best.

Yes Cranko - They are all for show you cant steer them with those chains, unlike the Wilesco equivalent.
Thanks for the date Manx, I guessed as much as I’ve been looking for the earlier one same as yours for ages with coloured lights and coloured scuttle.

No problems, your mobile collection just keeps growing. What are you going to be looking for next?

Manx, there were this type, then my type (black scuttle red lights-mine were made up especially for me at the factory) and then the black scuttle and white lights

Thanks Manx, well its got to be the Red bus next, a Henley’s one in my dreams - but standard one in reality, I just love them.
Also I quite like the look of the special edition blue "Forden " wagon from STEAM4FUN have you seen one?
I will post Picks of my Old Glory cert No# 1 in November when I get it (My wife has hid it away as she bought it as my birthday prezzy)
Collection id growing but minute compared to yours mate.

I like the LB1 it's not everyones cup of tea but it's just good looking.
Problem is, you have to pay a very high price to get one

Yea a bus seems to be a must for someone trying to get examples of all 11 Mamod mobiles.
I'm not sure about the Steam4fun engines. They are not 'proper' Mamod engines and are unlikely to hold value. If you want a limited edition special, then the forest classic ones are probably the best. These are made by Mamod and so are more official.

Yes I agree about the Steam4fun models. I like the short boiler TE model from Forest but not sure if they have any left, and I also fancy a Hercules steam roller one day.
