SL2 running on 45mm track

I still don't have enough track to make a loop yet only a tear drop shape so had to run the train backwards and forwards on the track.
I think my son liked it what do you think?

Looks to be running ok Tmuir from what I can see. I guess the real test will be when you get the loop of track and get it going round there

Looks stable on there though, that would have flown off the tracks when you first did it on '0' gauge for sure

I did derail once when I was testing it but that was because my son out a 'honky nut' (Its a big wooden seed pod from Eucalypt trees about 3cm across) on the track and I didn't see it until the loco hit it.
Luckily it just gently laid down on its side and primed a bit and no metho came out.
Will buy some more track in December and get the rest I need for Christmas.

Need to replace the lubricator as it doesn't work properly due to manufacturing faults and me slightly buggering it trying to fix it, but will do that next year when I start to make some rolling stock for it.

Yes you have to be very careful when they derail, especially as they can slide along and scrape all your paint. Not to mention the meths spillage

Well it doesn't look like you will have any real problems with that one, not like I did with Rosa

Looks the part too!

Goes well, plenty of room there for a large circle of track!

When I climb up on my roof next I will take an arial photo of where I want to build my perminant track.

Will need lots of work but has plenty of potential

The space you have is crying out for a model railway . . . . go for it!

Great video mate. That's the first time I've ever seen a Mamod loco run.

Don't really know if I can call it a Mamod anymore.
Only Mamod parts left are boiler, regulator, engine frame and blue body and whistle.
The non mamod parts list as
Wheels
Meths burner
oil lubricator
Safety Valve
Steam Dome
Smoke Box
Cylinders and pistons
Exhaust Pipe

and I am looking at replacing the buffers with roundhouse compatable ones so my Lady Anne and the SL2 can share rolling stock and the whistle with a water top up valve.

What about a Mam or a Mod sinc it has less parts or a Muirmod?

I liked the shot of it sitting still, looked very quaint. Reminded me of a NG Bagnall or Manning Wardle It's always nice to see what members look like
