SORTED! Repairing a Stuart S50Right, what i need is help!
I got me a nice little S50 engine.
But there's a fault i cannot repair with the machinery i have (which is only a drill what i have)
The problem is a broken off screw in the cast cylinder...
And the chest cover is missing 2 small screws.
Sound odd, but i can't do this alone.
Someone must take out that broken srew part, maybe make a new thread and provide a screw that will fit.
And 2 little screws for the chest cover
Anyone out there who could help me?
Of course i will pay for the work done!
BTW. the cylinder is cast bronze, not iron!

Mirko, you can get a set of special tools called screw extractors for jobs like this.
You drill a hole through the screw and insert the extractor. Turn anti clockwise and it should remove the screw.
i don't know how small your screw is though mate.

The screw is one that holds the front plate at the cylinder.
It is a 2mm screw (about)

I doubt if you'd get one that small mate.
Sorry.

you still should be able to use a smaller drill bit and drill out the center, when you're done move a size up until most of it's gone without hitting the hole itself. When it's thin enough use anything to wedge in there and it should turn right out.
Hope this helps

I drilled out the piece and was able to remove the remaining bits with a tiny screwdriver
