Sorted....Flywheel for ignition engine found Thanks Gil !Per title....
I have a four stroke airplane engine that's too wore out to fly (valves leak a bit and cause fuel to mist from carby) but still runs and I want to mount it to a plank and run it static....just to mess with it...But....
I need a heavy flywheel....at least Wilesco D-20 size and weight ...something around 2 1/2 to 6 inch round...?...
Does not need to be pretty....but not bent or broke.
Solid or spoked....either ....
Any ideas ?.....
Thanks

In the kitchen, find a good old cast iron frying pan..... put it in a lathe or mill and cut a wheel out of the bottom.
Seriously, you might try an older valve wheel. You may have to bore and bush it to fit.

Gil if i had a lathe i would not be in need of a wheel.....Hahaha
John....a 7000 rpm Hole Saw would be pretty cool i guess.......wanna call EMS while i spin start the engine?......Its a .65 ASP Nitro four stroke....
Should i use a wood blade or metal?....(TPI).
I plan on adding spark ignition and try different fuels......read propane and butane....
Still in need of wheel....
Its that or my extra 4 bladed prop..(for my P-51 RC)..and build a guard over it...ugh....

Take a 4" hole saw and drill cut a flywheel with it, you said it didnt need to be fancy, cut a hole in some boilerplate with a hole saw and you have a flywheel. I think you work HVAC so you probably have a hole saw in the old tool box.

Jim, it would probably cost you $60 or so, but Jensen sells heavy cast iron flywheels for their #20 engine...3.75 inch diameter and also grooved for belt takeoff if desired.
I know you probably don't want to spend that much, but in case you strike out on other fronts.

Use a wood blade, they look better.

I found this in my shop.
Has been double bushed and has a 5/16 bore.

I'm pretty sure PM research sells flywheels.
Could be worth checking.
