Spare A Thought For The Judges.

The event has hardly started, and some of the tables are stunning.

Can you imagine the task our judges will have in appraising them all?

It's a demanding job, and one that deserves our gratitude.

Here's to the panel, and best wishes in your deliberations.

Will the Tables be judged after STWWWs over and locked or will it be an ongoing judging?

The judges will not make their final decision until all the tables and sheds are closed.

They will, on their private board, discuss individuals exhibits and their merits during the event, to help them in their final decisions.
Les

Here's to the judges, as Sandy said, it is going to be a hard decision and I am glad I am not making it.
Steve_S

They're going to have a very hard job if what we've seen so far is anything to go by. What a start!
Wallace

I don't know how they are going to do it. Best of luck to you guys.

I've just logged on and know I have no chance of keeping up with peoples posts

Do the Judges have to wear white wigs?
flywheel61

Good luck to the three judges, there are some great tables already, and the weekend is only just starting.

I don't envy your task.

Cheers

I haven't even got through 1/4 of the entries, and already couldn't pick one over another.  What a task for the judges.
Thanks to the judges for taking this on, and good luck to all the fine entries!
Swift Fox

I don't envy their jobs at all.
Roly Williams

Having done the job for a couple of years, I know just how demanding it is. I do not envy them atall.
RocDoc

Best of luck to all the judges.  It's going to be really tough this year with so many fantastic entries (and that was just on Friday!!).

I don't envy them one bit. What a daunting task.
(Judges. Please PM me with the proper spelling of your names. I want to make sure it's not misspelled on your check.)

A hard task a head as all the tables are top tables

My thoughts exactly!

Sorry i been a bit slow getting around to all the tables , i been busy in the shed doing last minute preparations .......... oh , and a bit of steaming .
The other thing is i`m reluctant to voice opinions and show any possible bias at this early stage ........ being a judge and all .
But i can say that i like what i`m seeing .
Keep up the good work guys !
Best regards and happy steaming .
Dauntless

I like what I'm seeing very much too!

I took the time to write a simple comment for each table (if I missed anyone it is unintentional) and the time required just for that was a bit daunting. It was also thoroughly enjoyable to see and appreciate all the effort you have all put into your displays. So I am right now raising my glass to our judges who have a truly daunting task which requires a tremendous effort and a lot of time and hopefully a lot of enjoyment.

Thank you very much JUDGES !!!!!!

Good luck guys.

Just thought I would add that no time frame has been set for the judges to announce the winners.
It will take how ever much time they need.
I would expect it will take them atleast a week, maybe two before they are ready to announce the winners
xlchainsaw

i think tony is right  a two week wait for their decisions is more likely....how they will they decide????    flip a coin?????  names in a hat????  i know!!!!  i know!!!!!   bugsy chocolate wheel!!!!
magpie38

What an easy job for the judges this year good luck with your deliberations, it might take a while to pick the winners
Sandman

Tony makes a good point.

We never rush the judges, and rightly so.

Can you imagine the task of scrutinising all those tables out there??

I wish them well with their deliberations.

On the same theme, I will announce the date of the £50.00 draw shortly.

I concur.
Still haven't visited all the tables.
Haven't had such a hectic weekend like that for ages!
But I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I don't envy the judges. I already spend hours reading and watching and haven't seen all tables yet and left a comment on even fewer tables because there was so much to see in so little time. But that's ok, I liked all tables big and small, I even liked Pete the steam's table!
But to get back to the point I'm trying to make: If it's already a hard task to view all tables and comment on them, in a bit more than one weekend, then it has to be near impossible to judge them all!

Like I said, I don't envy the judges!
Douglas

Question for the Judges :

Due to timing and or being busy, some tables would have received more attention/comments/praise as they would have had a longer 'exposure time' if you will, eg the chap who posted as soon as the locks were down Friday night.

Would this impact on any part of the judging process?

In short, would any latecomers or anyone unable to post/exhibit until the end be placed at a disadvantage due to this?
Stoker

While trying to judge between such exceptional entries is truly a Herculean task, I don't really feel any too sorry for the judges, as having to repeatedly view all the offerings can only be seen as a very Heavenly form of Hell!

Good luck boys
