I'm glad they sold before I got here.
tmuir

Terrible timing Moose.
I've just convinced my wife about an hour ago that if I buy a $320 bandsaw now I will be actually saving $140, not sure I can pull that point off again for that Bowman loco.
Nick

There will be more chances in the future.

I missed Gil's sale of 2 nice Jensen 25's, and was very dissapointed, but here there was one 15 miles from me in a local antique shop.

Would have to be made of gold and the price of gold has gone up a lot....................
johnreid

Better have him ship it to your work address then

It should be against the law that so many good ones come up right after I just spent more that I could afford. I sure would have loved to have bought that Junior.

Just to keep you posted: all sold engines will be posted today - Special Delivery for those in the UK, Airmail for overseas.

Thanks very much to all buyers - I've raised the money for my boat with some to spare!

Well done that man!

It`s nice when the books (over)balance.
Bogstandard

Nice one Odilon,

Your grin is now guaranteed for this weekend.

Don't forget, if you want a half way break, I am only 15 mins off the motorway.

Don't forget to take my phone number with you, just in case something happens within my strike area, and you need help.
All I will want for payment is one Victoria.

John
MooseMan

Might just take you up on that John!
johnreid

So happy to see it all work out for you Moose, I hope you do not miss what you sold though. I always have Sellers remorse when I sell things. IT was another feeding/buying frenzy, so many nice ones all available at once.
MooseMan

Of course I'll miss what I sold.....but the good thing is that the sale went so well that I can hold on to all my real favourites....I thought I would have to sell a few of my Bowmans, but I can keep them now!

....and of course, I'm getting that boat out of it, and that's just a dream come true.
James

Were just about to post something and then I saw the clock!!

Best get to registration. Will be back on the computers for the next two periods in English so I'll post it then!

I'll be around for the next hour or so mate.
James

Well I'm back but I dunno for how long!

Aye, I'm in the same boat as you Moosey! I don't want to let ANY of my engines go, but it's the price you've got to pay for getting that thing you've wanted for so long!

I just can't wait til I get my "thing"

Hope it's worth it mate
Mister Occlusion

The SEL came today!

Wow, was I ever overestimating the size of it: it's Tiny!

It's so Cute!

I can't wait to run the wee bugger

Richard, on SEL's I believe "4 sides" or "2 sides" refers to the base which either has all four edges turned down all the way around, or two sides are left open (flat/non turned) as you can see in your picture.

Thanks Rog,

What is the significance of this in terms of age and vatue?
mogogear

Too bad Richard- 4-2=2 . You have only 2 sides - that makes yours worth 1/2 as much - .........
johnreid

Quality versus quantity, maybe Richards 2 sides are twice as good making it worth as much as one with 4 regular sides

I didnt think they were real large, do you have the dimensions of the base?
Nick

Can you take a picture next to an engine everyone has?

Richard, these pictures show the difference between 2 and 4 sided bases.

Not knowing much about anything Les, the 4 sided one looks older? Is that true..?

I do not know as there is no difference in the engines themselves.
johnreid

Personally I would be happy if I had either one.
cam-steaman

Thanks! That particular Cyldon went over the pond a while ago....it was a bit of a weird one as it was coupled to a modified Mamod boiler and firebox. It did run well, but only with enormous amounts of oil.
cam-steaman

are you selling your entire collection or  select few?
Nick
