Is it 20cm long, 12cm wide and 19cm high, if so it could be model no. 130/720 c1909 and definitely Bing.

Not quite,
230mm long at its longest,
120mm accross the hind rolls, and
180mm to the top of the chimney.
Ian, the fingers have long since been eaten........

I am not sure then as the bigger one, 130/725, had a conventional smokebox annd it was 26cm long, 11.5cm wide and 21cm high.

I can tell you, such a roller was sold some weeks ago on ebay for a incredible price of about 1.000,- euro's
Don't ask me why it fetched that price
Must be a rarer variation of the simple bing roller.
Your roller has the reversind lever inside the driver's cabin...so maybe this is the rare thing?
Other rollers have the lkever right at the cylinder (similar like on mamods)
Please, if you try to restore it BE CAREFULL
No repainting please....
By the way..what's wrong with it?

List of what is wrong with it
No clip to hold the burner in (what should it look like?)
Dint on corner of cab,
1 wick missing
cap missing off burner
So whats a normal on worth?,
Do you have a link to the one that sold on e-bay?. I am keen to learn what model it is and particularly how old for the owner.

GBN - Gebrüder Bing, Nürnberg. A beautiful roller! As Mirko suggests: Pray don't do to much to it! P'raps just a little cleaning and polish ...
Bing went out of business in 1932. I'd put it in the early 20ies, p'raps even pre-WW1.

Only heathens restore engines as good as this, all it will get is some oil and some meths.
Come on guys who knows what model it is and how old?

... beware of the heathen.
My Bing replica "Händlerkatalog"-Book doesn't have anything like it in it. It shows lithographic images of steam toys, doll house utensils and trains. But no steam roller. The catalogues date 1912, 1913 and 1920 to 1932.

The 1912 catalogue I have shows one on page 47, but it is totally different, but the one in the 1909 catalogue, no page no., is virtually indentical but slightly smaller.

Sorry, only just turned my pc on. Ok, it is Bing but earlier than suggested. This little Roller is model number 7142 in the Bing 1906 Catalogue and also had a name, Pluto.
It had a slightly bigger brother that looks nearly the same and was called, Zeus.
As for value, yes worth loads. This is 100 years old. In my experience any mobiles that are pre about 1914 seem to be worth good money and you're unlikely to get a good example for less than £500GBP. Certainly we've seen Marklin, Carette and Weeden mobiles of a simular date go for over £1000GBP.
I'll do a scan of the 1906 Catalogue if it will help.

Thanks for that Manx, a scan of the catalogue would be brill.
Time to come clean, paid £60 for it in an antique fair today. The same seller had a very rusty Blue Mamod SW1 for £75.
Good buy then.........

Ok, I've just read the thread again and it seems we have 2 sets of measurements and they are in cm and the old catalogues are in inchs and my heads not working this evening.
The more I look the more it looks like Zeus: So from the 1906 catalogue.....
Pluto (7142) 8" long, 5" wide and 7 1/4" high. price 13/10
Zeus (7266) 10 1/4" long, 4 1/2" wide and 8 3/4" high.
Sorry but it is this model, it just comes in 2 sizes.

Here's another thing. That logo on the front of the Roller didn't come into existence until 1900 (before that it was a woman with a shield). We know from the Catalouges that it was gone / upgraded / changed by 1909 and it is in the 1906 Catalogue. I think that's fairly good dating evidence.

Trust me that's close enough for these old models. Here's a scan from the 1906 Catalogue. Could it be anything else?

That is the same two as in the 1909 catalogue, now numbered 130/720 (Pluto) and 130/725 (Zeus) but the names have gone.

I'd agree and not worry to much about the measurements. That pic is very close, if not a 100% copy and with these old catalogues that's all you get. Bing didn't do these trade publications every year and I'm sure salesmen were selling models that were not exactly the same as the pic in their book. By the 1909 supplement the model may not have changed but the Bing Logo was changed (Squashed diamond with GBN in the bottom 3 corners) and so this should be a pre 1909 model.

If i were you i would do this:
LEAVE the edge like it is..if you try to straighten it, you might make the paint flake off
Search for a Screw...you will find it anytime....
Or, search for a Bind style SV, take it apart and solder the hole
(butt this only if you do not find a screw...)
Replace the missing wick
Give the thing a clean with light oil
Make me a photo of the bottom so we can tell you how the burner's been fixed
