I've spent Boxing Day sorting out the app forms  for STIA2012 and emailing those for whom I have valid email addresses. If you haven't had a confirmatory email drop me a line at fcrammond@hotmail.com  otherwise I'll see you in February unless you come to our Meccano Day on Sunday 16th January (live steam Meccano on the Beam Floor, rest of the stuff in the Big Shed)

Cheers

Fred

I got my confirmation email, many thanks Fred.

Will people be allowed to bring single stuff eg locos to the rail section?
made-in-england

Im sure if you came with a loco Titan would let you run on his layout or maybey even ask the chaps who run Freds layout. They have let me run on there before.

If you are already booked in there is no problem but if not there are elfnsafety issues regarding traceability. If you intend bringing operational boats, locos etc I would prefer it if you posted or even emailed me a form.

You've still got two weeks to contact He Who Must Be Obeyed
DolwyddelanLightRail

Oh, I thought it mentioned somewhere that applications etc had to be in by the 1st?

Why not drop Fred a quick PM and explain??

Fred will accommodate all toy steamers if he can.
Titan

I think the deadline is most important for those who are having their own table and want to be included in the guide.  If you're bringing your own loco as long as Fred does not need to make any special arrangements and is aware of whats happening before you steam it up it should be OK.  All loco's are welcome on my layout - indeed if someone has something to run it gives my engines a break and a chance for me to see the rest of the show, so I like to encourage it whenever possible!

The big advantage of being in charge is that you can modify the rules as you go along

As someone once put it

Rules are for the obedience of fools and the guidance of wise men.
DolwyddelanLightRail

Ah fair enough! PM incoming!

Fred !

Fools 'N' Wise Men !

It was 'Douglas Barder' in the book 'REACH FOR THE SKY' of which the film was later created

Hope that helps!!

fcrammond

Douglas Bader was quoting it ,  it predates him quite considerably I've seen it attributed to Solon.

I'm in  -Titan, looks like you might be getting the break this year

Would I be right in believing the railway is inside the pumping house, 2nd floor? [missed it last year, d'oh!!]

And I suppose you don't mind someone else giving you a break as well Titan?
fcrammond

There should be five railways up there. Two Mamod, two Bowman/Bassett Lowke and a tinplate gauge1 (bing maerklin etc.)
Enjoy.
Titan

The more the merrier!
Douglas

Awesome. I think all three of my locos are going to be coming for a stretch - mind chaps, I would like to sell two of them to save for an Accucraft.
