Steamcraft GWR live steam 00/HO gauge locoA very special Steamcraft 00 gauge arrived today , the 4-6-0 GWR KING CLASS EXPRESS was built by David Taylor himself . He ran it intermittently and between runs it stood in a glass box in his office. I am honoured to own this fine example. it is the 3rd of his exquisite products in my collection.The locomotive is gas fired with double acting cylinders. A video will follow soon

Very nice loco, Benchmark.  Out of curiosity, is this one powered from the visible cylinders or does it have a little oscillator somewhere in the body?

The two visible cylinders are cosmetic. Actually the real cylinder powering it is in the middle of the chasis. It is a double acting cylinder and ths is the only Steamcraft of the 3 i have without an oscillating cylinder as the other 2 are geared oscillating cylinders. |
