I decided to take a closer look at the Bowman bodge up I got from the STIA.
It quickly became obvious that the gearing needed sorting out before it could possibly run.
I dismantled the shafts and relocated the gears and pulleys so they ran freely.
I tightened up the trunnion spring, added a few drops of steam oil here and there, and this was the result.

... a great video, Sandy! I luuuv the thimble! I think all flatbeds would look real neat mounted on some fine piece of wood. Would keep the from marching off, too.
