Great! I hope to try one some day.
Would like to see some ratings, such as power output at a given speed, as is standard in rating all generators,
that would be a great help if someday we might rate the various generators.
Asking of no one in particular, what voltages does an -unloaded- Jensen generator attain at various rpm? And a Wilesco?

Those are three different animals so they would/should have different ratings as far as power output versus drag.

After I get this next mad mod done I want to start quantifying things better. Dunno if I can measure the speed of the generator with my tach, though. The replacement one is ditzy enough as it is.
Never metered a Jensen 15, but I imagine the advertised 6VAC is probably with the beast running from the flywheel PTO of a model 20 or similar.
Advertised ratings, I think, are a sham anyway. Take the PMR generator. Rated something like 20VDC 2Amp at 2000RPM.
Find me a model steam engine that can turn that sucker at 2000RPM and drive a 2 amp load. Best I ever did, I think, was get it somewhere in the vicinity of 20VDC unloaded, or maybe I was just imagining it :/
