i had to withdraw my engine as its no way near completion, had so many other thing on the go.
ill come and see you all tho, and introduce myself. you might even see me on the river out back at about 10:15/30am.

Hi all, have been on a weeks skiing nearly had to cancel, but went at short notice. Had a great time, so v glad we went.

I am not going, but am just as anxious to see lots and I mean LOTS of pictures from the event and then the DVD which I am sure will be so entertaining to watch. Just think how much money I will save as I will not be tempted by the merchants there.

i got 2 1gb cards which in total can take 1020 pics and then i have a 512mb card as a backup whch can take up to 250 pics
so i think imsorted memory wise
wont take me forever as ill start as soon as i get there

Seeing as snow is forecast, are there heaters in the marquee, or do we just steam up as many as possible and keep warm that way
Lets hope the forecast is wrong either way, assume less visitors if its bad weather

You want 2500mah aa's. They last for about 150 pictures in my Sony, Duracells only do about 30. You can get them with a 1 hour fast charger on Ebay cheaply and they are good quality branded ones Argos have them to.
You must get the 2500MaH ones, 2000MaH will do at a push

My camera doesnt like even the 2500 ones, I understand as I wasted money buying them. Wish I was going so I could use up batteries.

ill have to try rechargebles at some point but for now its duracell or those energizer lithuim ones

I get a lot of pictures using Duracells, but only 5 or 6 with 2500 Nimh rechargeables.

I've found the main problem with NiCad and Lithium cells is that they discharge themselves slowly, even if your not using them. If you use it all in one day then the capacity is a lot better than if you leave it standing between uses. Lithiums are better than NiCads in this, and indeed all other respects except cost. Alkaline cells (like Duracell) have a very good shelf life. I think they clain about 5 years.

well i am hoping to just visit, gonna take my kodak Z710 10x optical zoom. I got a lithuim reachable bactorry for it and it can take 100s of picture with it.

Some cameras are designed for AA batteries I believe that built in bactorries do give one more pictures.
