STIA2008 Railways from the crane

Thought you might like to see the view from above:

Of course it's not all work at APS

Someone might tell Titan that I now have half a wagonload of ballast I picked up off the floor. What does he think the box is for?

Those 4 seem to be enjoying themselves.

I did not know there were so many portable layouts there, quite impressive. I sure wish I could attend some day.
Sandman

Excellent angle on the top pics Fred.

It's difficult to appreciate the scale of the beams from floor level.

We had the Bowman Circle, Titan and his mamods, Our usual Mamod layout, Steve Cheshire with Bowman and Basset Lowke and Roger Caunt et al with Gauge 1 tinplate.  We didn't have Hornby Rockets,Hornby 00 live steam, Minitrains 00 live steam, live steam G scale or Birmingham Dribblers this year but we have had them in the past.
I have a yen to split off the railways into a separate event....Steam Trains in Action??..... but the idea usually founders on the rather curious addiction the model railway fraternity have to two day events. I think it dates from the need to debug your electric ferrets for a couple of hours before anything will happen reliably but it makes life impossible for us.

still, I have plans to run the Boat pool during the summer and who knows what that will lead to (details on another forum )

Graham-Jilly

great pictures fred and those beams are impressive

Everyone is invited, it's just that I use both forums and I can't be *rs*d to post information on both. We must reduce energy usage and save the planet you know. Just for clarity its in the Floats your Boat section.

It's a pity boats aren't more popular.

Maybe it's because they always seem so expensive.

Any I've seen always seem to be beyond my means.

I did feel very guilty about that Fred, I wanted to sweep it up but by that time was told all brushes that I might be able to borrow were probably locked away.  I really need to get the ballast stuck on better - or bring my own brush in future!  Oh well.

And many thanks for the box too made me laugh that did!

I really like the photos - looks like you took them in the morning when things were still under construction!
