Tender for my Mamodhere is the card model of what it will look like. got the brass today so will try and cut the parts out. dad might bring his blow lamp home so i can have a go at soldering some offcut. the mamod firebox will not be fixed in to the tender now, the whole thing will be in one from brass sheet. it will have a mehogany floor, some nice steps on the side and real coal in the tender. i should be able to get some brass bushes for the crankshaft to go in from bessytractor. . the burner fits under the floor. it is based on a burrell agricultural engine, and will have the same holes for fixing a mamod boiler and wheels. i need to drill some air holes in the sides of the firebox at the bottom and some in the firebox top to let out the products of combustion. the firebox is the same size as a mamod one. if this one is a success, i may start offering them to forum members with the correct holes drilled and pieces cut out for a standard te1a/sr1a, for about £30 in a choice of colours of mamod green, marroon or black.

I'm a little puzzled, am I making the crankshaft or the bearings, or both? either way it will give me summat to do!

I was a little puzzled too, I thought this was going to be about a tender for his Mamod loco! Can't wait for the finished article Rob, and I also like the idea of a cardboard mock up so you can get the dimensions right
