this one really runs a treat, I was immediately astonished at the silence! I think that's because my #60's connecting rod hits the end if the crankshaft. when I was admiring the silent art that was the movement it developed a good head of steam. I'm uploading a video now, but it went so fast, It nearly vibrated out of frame, and it vibrated the stack off! all I did was oil it and some minor polishing. Thank you Tony, thank you John!!!

Tony is the greatest, so glad it arrived in good condition.
Have fun

Who said Jensen didn't make mobiles.
Glad you like it.
I find the best way to stop them running off is to get an old towel and fold it up and sit the engine on it. It absorbs the vibrations and stops the engines running off.
Just make sure its an old towel as the oil stains won't come off.

Ace, you have a fantastic runner there...wow, no hesitation at all.
Couple of suggestions:
1) drip from steam regulator valve can be reduced or stopped by pressing in the valve's spring and squirting a little steam oil in the space between, work it around. Same thing works for whistles.
2) Tony's idea of a towel underneath will work, but another thing I have done is clean the surface of the metal where it touches the countertop...and smear a coating of silicone bathtub caulk on it (leave upside down)...let dry overnite and it will have very "grippy" feet after that!
You have got to be happy with such a good running engine...congrats!

I agree. yes, I am very happy with this engine, it even happily runs a small generator I made out of a floppy disc motor that the other 60 could not!
