The largest vertical Schoenner made

From what I understand, this is the big one.  Every now and then you have to just love E Bay.  I will save the restoration of this engine until the snow flies this winter but I had to show it to you.  The flywheel measures 6" in diameter and the boiler is also 6" in diameter.  The cast iron base measures 9" in diameter.   This engine is just huge.   It is missing a lot.  All of the missing parts will have to be fabricated as finding any of these would be impossible.  At least I think impossible.

xlchainsaw

i knew they were big but i never thought....that big. thanks for showing

Wow!!!

That thing is massive.
A lot of work to be done there for sure, but it will be worth it.

Gary279

Unbelievable!!!  I saw that on ebay but I don't remember why I didn't bid...?  Did you get a good deal?

I can't wait to see the progress on it!! Thumbs up!
MrMamod

loose nut 45

Bloody hel, its bigger than my pedal bin in the shed!

I would like to see the workshop tools that goe with it !!
steaminon

It sounds like everybody is a little taken back by the size of this engine just as I was.   If the listing would have shown the engine with an object to put its size in perspective, who knows what it would have gone for.   I was the high bidder at $279.24  and the shipping cost me a $50 bill.   I was more than excited when I won the engine.  I usually don't consider being the high bidder as winning.  This time it made me feel that way.  It will take a long time to find all of the info I will need to fabricate all of the missing parts.  If anybody can help with photos or other information, I will be very appreciative.
MrDuck

That was cheap despite knackered condition. Lots of fine brass and steel for the price and once you're done it will be worth many times that
