The latest addition to the collection of Simon...Here are some pics of my Wilesco D141, essentially a D14 with a lineshaft and 4 tools All of nut and bolt construction!
The D141's box, with a handy plastic handle on top to carry it
An overall view of the engine
A close up pic of the solid brass engraved sign proclaiming "Wilesco - Workstatt"
An overall view of the D14 engine
An even closer view of the D14, showing the standard Wilesco running apparatus
A photo of all the 4 tools, all these are bolted on, so could be taken off individually to be driven by other models A vid or two later!

What a beauty!!!
I want one!

Very nice!

Manxman

That's real nice. I think you are going to get hours of fun from that. Now all you need is a couple of figures, the right size, to run your workshop.

James: Ask station500uk on eBay, he gets brand new ones direct from the factory ALOT cheaper than you can get from stockists over here. My D141 was £139, from Germany, post FREE!

Very good, very imaginative - plenty of scope there for some customisation!! Why oh why cant Mamod do something like this???
|
James
|
Because they are cheapskates who make poor quality stuff now Mike
|
MTA
|
I think at Wilesco that they do survey's. E.g. ask children what they would like to see as a new model
|
James
|
See what I mean! None of that at Mamod

AYe, Maybe. I sure MM would say differently, but the evidence is hard to ignore!

Steve: If you don't have a Wilesco, get one! They are great fun and look very nice and run well!
Manx: I know that Wilesco make a pack of figures for aesthetic reasons, but at £20 I think I'll leave it for now
Mike: Maybe I could swap the D14 for your D455, then it'll saw through matchsticks in seconds!
James: GET ONE!!

James

Go on PPS website, he sells metal figures

Funnily enough I was thinking of those when I posted that message

What am I thinking of then?

Not to be sniffed at, considering that they sell over here for £150 upwards, plus postage on top!

Or a D22

Wallace

MTA, that is a fantastic setup mate.
I love it!. The workshop especially!! That is something I would love to have.
Nice buy MTA.
I'm going to keep my eye on them.
Do you know if you can buy the workshop alone?
Also, I know someone mentioned it earlier, but does anyone have a direct link to a meths burner for these?
Oh, and finally, is the engine removable from that Workshop?

Never seen a meths burner for Wilesco - they have a shaped 'trough' that the solid fuel burner slides into and is held tight.

Ill sort a pic when I can Wallace, Im sure one could be custom made, I have just run my SP2D and to be frank the solid fuel is shite. I got less than 8 minutes out of it. Meths wins hands down - inless you overfill the solid fuel burner!

Ok, thanks mike, that'd be great.
If I got a Wilesco (the one with workshop) I would have to fire it on meths, so at worst, I'd make a suitable burner.
The pics would be great. Very handy
Just looking at one now, 120pound with workshop!
A bit out of my reach for a month, but tempting
I have some bits I have to restore and sell on, but not till the holiday time here ends

The great thing about this model Wallace is that it is of nut and bolt construction. The tools are bolted on, the lineshaft too. The enginehas tabs underneath bent round, but these can be unbent and the engine slid off You can get the workshop seperately:
http://www.forest-classics.co.uk/m56.htm, although it doesnt have the hacksaw like mine

Ok, thanks very much for the info mate.
Once I get some info/pics from mike about the burner and how it sits (as I might be looking at making a meths one), I might look into getting one.
Not quite sure.
But it's a great engine mate. Nice one

LMAO! I also used to have the bed sheets, I used to love Thomas.

Trust me, loads of quotes from Thomas are used in the railway world, the most used being:
"Coughs and Sneazels Spread Diseasles"
I've got the combined thomas book somewhere, its about an inch thick and A4 size I remember the day when Rev. W. Awdry died, I was staying in a Bungalow in Blue Anchor, backing onto the West Somerset Railway

I was brought up with the liquid kind on the railways, so I prefer it more to the wadding I have to take the liquid kind to the railways as they use this hideous kind of metal polish which is just like toothpaste. I hate using it, goes everywhere!

I've always been a liquid person (If the bottle is shaken well enough then good at cleaning). However, I've using wadding since I joined the forums and it is a great product, easier to use and less mess. Place for both I guess.

I use the liquid brasso as in OZ I have no choice cant find this wadding brasso you talk of anywhere

Set up is typical for all Wilescos.

Thanks a lot for that Mike
Greatly appreciated, and those pics say a lot.
Never realised they had that setup.
Nice one
Tmuir, I also only use the liquid stuff, as you say, not other choice here.
They do have wadding stuff in tins, at auto spare shops. For cleaning/polising etc.
Can't recall exact brand, but I used to use it on chrome a lot, and was in a yellow tin.
Mothers or meguiars brand maybe.
Don't know if it does brass though
