The legend that is SandmanGoing to STiA and meeting up with so many of my on-line pals was fantastic....but one deserves a special mention:
I'd only met Sandy in person once before.....just imagine walking through the door to be hailed by an unmistakable voice, and this Scottish guy comes bounding up to you and greets you not like a mate, but like a long-lost brother.....
.....this is the legend that is the Sandman!

I totally agree, there from beginning to end and stalking everyone from the Forum. A character that's larger than life with a greeting that makes you think that he was there when you bought your first engine.
Truely a tremendous bloke!

They say the sandman stands for sleep.
Well, Scotland sent one, sans the sheep.
You count away and stay refreshed
When Sandy treats you as his guest.
Oww, rhyming couplets tend to bore
And must run trite forevermore,
So I should crash this meter, right,
And hope to meet Sandman some night.
Oh my goodness, oh my bad:
I cannot quit these couplets, lad.
Once begun they will not cease,
Though that does not grant a free lease.
Someone, smash me on my head
(to let our Sandman go to bed).

Great bloke and so busy all afternoon. I think this years DVD is going to be even better than last years. In fairness, last years DVD almost came about a bit by accident and wasn't as well planned as this years.
At the point when I left Sandy, he was off to say hello to Steve Malins (Grandson of Geoffery and son of Eric) who is resonsible for lots of the Mamod line of products, including for me, his crowning glory, the Roadster. At that time in the mid 1970's, what an idea.

LOLL, never heard of mardy before, so when Mrs Attic, a Northern lass, got a bit funny yest, I said, hey you mardy bugger.
She had to laugh, cos she hasnt heard anyone say it to her in Glos.
I then had to ask her what it meant

It means so much to me that my efforts are appreciated in this way.

I guess that this is time for a history Lesson, in the mid 1800s there was a Civil War in the US. There is an imaginary Line that divides the US into the North and The South, this line is called the Mason Dixon Line.
Indiana, was in the Union, or the NORTH. Alabama was in the South.
So, in the US there is a North and a South.

Sorry Sandy, not meaning to hijack you
Thanks John, didnt realise, course heard of the deep south , but history/ Geography teaching in the UK was bad, its even worse now, more like propoganda than teaching .
Something potentially sinister in the Government controlling education and Health- what we learn and when we die.........
Right am now seriously
