The new Forum Steam LaunchHere is something that all forum members wanting a steam launch should get together and buy - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Steam-Power...PageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Although I'd certainly want a lifejacket as it seems to run more like a submarine with 3 onboard.

OoooOooooOOoooooH............
I'm buying a lottery ticket tomorrow....or does anybody want a kidney? Full working order, 40 years on the clock?

Already sold my two Kidneys ... my Liver ... Spleen ... Heart ... you name it, I've sold it ... but I still need £13,998.50.
Anyone fancy a quick shag? .... (NB: before I get censored ... shag is obviously a bird and also a Texas term for line dancing).

And here I was thinking a "Shag" was just a long nap carpet from the '70's. Who would think a bird was named that too

In my smoking days I used to smoke shag tobacco

More on shags ... apparently, it's not a line dance, but a Swing dance.

When I was in 7 th grade (1969) a new stylish haircut came into being- boys hair actually had a style... as opposed to "flattop", crew cut etc......
The SHAG--
My Dad cut my hair- he didn't know the first thing about stylish- he usually nipped my ear. ----.!

That explains why Nick spends a lot of time in the basement or at work.

My basement carpet is worse! (Not shag, but uglier than it!) :

No wonder you are trying to fill it with engines, you won't be able to see it then.

It's cheaper than new carpet, and I don't have to worry if I damage it.

The money saved on new carpet is money for new engines.

The way styles of clothing and stuff cycle, it will be back in style in about 20 years.

Instead of your carpet I would rather have this. Nowhere to put it, but I would still like it.
Back on subject.

Thats fine on calm lakes, not so for ocean going.

Well, I made a rare exception and bought a lottery ticket!

Thank you Les. I thought I was going to have to give up posting again as another item wonders off subject very quickly.
Good luck with the Lottery Odilon.

Is it worth the starting bid price? More?
|
Les Marsh

It is worth as much as you are willing to pay for it.

Thanks Chris - I'll need it. I had a look on the Steam Boat Association "for sale" pages (a very unwise move that could seriously hurt your budget), and it's on there with "offers in the region of £12,500".
So if I do win the lottery tonight (yeah right) that's what I'll be offering.....I can just see myself going around Cardiff Bay with that!
|
Les Marsh
|
Well, I did not win the lottery, so I won't be putting in an offer.

Nor me......ah well, I've got my Krick! It may just pull me on a surfboard (now THERE'S something to make the good folk of Cardiff talk!)

Very nice,
Need a bigger Jacuzzii, though.

Well, no.....truth be told, I've never touched a surfboard....although people do surf out towards Llantwit, about 20 miles away.
Unrelated story that just popped into my head, just to illustrate how terribly un-surf I am....
Student of mine is a champion skateboarder, he quite often turns up for tutorials on his board. One day I though "well, how hard can it be", stepped on, and pushed myself off down the corridor, arms waving wildly.
Student gives me a look of sheer horror, and after a few seconds of stunned silence mutters "....dude......you could at least bend your knees!"
Anyway......off topic.
