Nice, the only record player I have left is my wifes Sony.
Me and my brothers first record player was an old huge cabinet with a record player built in. Can't remember what happened to it, unfortunately. Later I got a Philips record player for my birthday with build in amplifyer and two small loudspeakers which I blew up by adding too much loadspeakers.
Later I got a Dual, with all whistles and bells you could think of, which got lost while moving to a new home.
The Dual came with a radio with a built in tube amplifyer which proved to be excellent for use with my electric guitar.
And somewhere in between we got an Amstrad midi set with record player and a cd player. In those days the cd was hyped as giving awesome sound quality over record players and they were nearly indestructable, or so they said... It was quite a dissapointment, it didn't sound better and you had to clean those darn disks quite often because a few dust particles made de cd player go haywire.
I love the record.

I have a Dual 504 - I recently overhauled it because the speed control was stuck....the mechanics of it are just beautiful, with a little metal cone expanding a splined shaft across which the belt runs.

As a young lad I always enjoyed seeing the young Mr Grace's assistants.

My record players are all crappy old things but they work and the sound is analogue
