The ultimate model steam boat?

I thought everyone might like to see a steam boat which belongs to a reletive of mine. This boat was made by a Mr A.C Noble in 1896. It measures 54 inches long, 9 inches from keel to deck and 16 inches from keel to top of chimney. The boiler is fired with wood and runs at 40psi. This is fitted with a lever type safety valve and sight glass. Steam is supplied to a twin cylinder engine which we think could be by the Stevens model dockyard.
The engine drives a single screw and a feedpump. So that the operator could control the boat when in steam Mr Noble fitted the deck with control valves so that the speed and water pump could be controlled without having to dismantle the boat.
The detail is wonderful, including a cabin with chairs and table and a glass sky light over the engine room. This boat used to be steamed on the River Thames up to about the 1960s when the boiler became to old for save running.

The complete boat which is 54 inches long and very heavy!

The engine room. The feedpump is just behind the engine and a hand pump is also fitted.

A little bit of history. The boat pictured in 1901 at Mr Nobles house and a photo of the boat in steam on the River Thames

it doesn't look "loved" , the least they could do is dust it, even better fire her up.

I agree it could do with a good dust!! it doesn't look so bad face to face!!

It's got lovely lines and those two old photos are really nice to have with it.

Once it has had a good clean it will look glorious again.
Are you going to sail it??

A wonderful boat. Thanks so much for sharing. The carved hull is elegant.

Any more photo's of the saloon area or with the superstructure removed?

Lucky you for having such history at hand! Lucky us for having you!

What a piece of history.

Loved the old photos and the classic lines.

What happens to her from now?

What a great boat and even better that its history hasn't been lost too.

I wonder if it would be possible to get the boiler reconditioned, or failing that a replica one made and put in (keep the old one for historical reasons) and resteam it.

That would be great to see a model steam boat that is over 100 years old steaming again.
