If you really believe you have the flu you must get medical attention right away.
Tamiflu can knock it down quickly but must be administered early enough.
There are some awfully nasty modern flu bugs out there and they will find us and it is no laughing matter.
Godspeed to you on your recovery.

Feeling a bit better, I was tempted to go to the Emergency room earlier but am coming out ogf ot, I think it was a 24 hour virus of some sort. I have a regularly scheduled Doctors appointment tomorrow and will see what transpires between now and then, I have probably slept for over 18 hours and that helped too I am sure, Not 100% better but do think the worst is behind me. Might even get a bite to eat, havent done so since lunch yesterday. The return of the appetite is a good sign I think.
The Flu going around is bad so I am glad I did not get it. Did you know that influenza killed more soldiers in WWI than bullets or bombs?

It has gone through our entire house over the past two weeks...all started with 4 year old grandson bringing it home from pre-school. I followed him, then a daughter, wife and now my youngest daughter. Only the little fellow got TamiFlu and it seemed to be very effective...rest of us got various antibiotics.
Saw a news story this afternoon that by the time the H1N1 vaccine is widely available in the USA, it will be the end of this month and it's predicted 60% + of the population will have gotten the H1N1 variety by Oct. 30. Classic case of a day late...many dollars short!

I had a flu shot last week....doesn't protect against swine flu, but apparently it protects against some of the other strains. Bloody sore arm for 4 days! But hey, it beats pneumonia.

I find a hot toddy always works wonders - hot water, lemon juice , honey and most importantly a very large splash of whisky

The Doc says that it probably wasnt the flu but a bad GI bug that has been in the area as of late. The Doctors office was like an isolation ward today, the Flu has been near epidemic proportions as of late.
Not much to do about the situation I have other than take it easy and get better

Glad to hear you're feeling a bit better. Take it easy and get lots of rest. The hot toddy idea is also sound advice.
