The box is worth saving though, a tatty box is better than no box.

Nice engine

I hope not selotape Mitch, its bad news in the long run, goes all cruddy, the gluey stuff gets seperated from the plastic.  Thats gluey stuff also goes yellowy as well, makes a real mess

If its selotape try and get it off fast, you need brown tape that you lick to stick it really mate. Get it from artists shops, or B&Q if you are lucky

If its selotape and it wont come off easily there are ways to get it off without pulling bits of cardboard off but its a fiddle
Keith S

This is the same problem they had with the dead sea scrolls, I kid you not, they used Cellotape to try and stick the parts together at first, now the icky glue has permeated the ancient papyrus, creating more nightmares for the modern restoration crews.

Don't make the same mistake: in 4000 years or so your MM! box might be the only one of its kind left for historians to study; don't $%^& it up with Cellotape.

Mitch

cheers for the advice guy but the tape i have used is brown licking tape of packing tape as it is other wise non
johnreid

Make a stiff box that fits just inside of the box. brings it back to shape and if done right does no harm.

The original mm1's with the small flywheel were all red from what I could tell, even the outsides, only the later models had no paint on the outside. Compare the flywheel sizes to your other mm1's

The firebox paint shouldnt need doing? this was resprayed.
Mitch

u can tell an all red flywheel because they were noy macined so they hat the casting lines left in the middle but this flywheel was machined so has no paint on the outside
