Tin of paint anyone?

Is this sort of price correct for a 1 1/2 inch tin of paint

£99 so far, some contents there still.

Still 11 hours to go. Check out your cupboards everyone

Les

I think £4 is over the top for postage.

£3 is for the red silk to pack it in Les

You could display it next to your Busy Body of Jimbo

Why has the value kept going up when the next highest bid was £49.99? Surely it should only be £51.00 now? Am I missing something with how automatic bids are placed? still a crazy price any which way you look at it

I have got 10 tins of this stuff only joking I wish had some why is it going for so much money
tmuir

It's a crazy price but must be very rare.
I've never seen it before and I have kilos of Meccano dating back to the 1920s.
I also did a Google search and Meccano paint tins and found zero hits so I'm guessing its the 'hens teeth' for Meccano collectors.

Nicks right, I am sure. Bidder 2 has quite a few feedback and knows what hes doing bid wise.
Bids went 51, to see if the reserve was over 50. Then £80 to see if the reserve was over £75, then 99 in case the reserve was that. Reserve auctions are a pain ita, but can sometimes end as a bargain, as people get put off bidding at all on them.

Maybe those are famous fingerprints on the can too

I wonder if it's a meccano collector or a rusty old pain pot collector that's bidding on it?

They can keep them at that price
alan2525

If only I had money! At the moment I can only dream of ever owning a complete set of empty meccano paint pots! But some day - they will be mine!!

This one has paint in it though   - more costly than a good bottle of vintage wine- wonder what I would choose- each to their own.

Les how much did those pots sell for- you need to be a member to see that. Well found as well

WONDER WHAT A PHOTO OF SAID PAINT TIN IS WORTH THEN?
Chris

And I thought little tins of humbrol were expensive!

You can say that again.
If it brought £101.99 for a part tin I wonder how much a full tin would go for??
Kev&Mel

I think gold leaf might be a cheaper alternative.
Cheers
