Took new picture of my 234

My Photoshop skills are not up to par as I have eye problems, but I took a new picture and then tried to "doctor it up" a little Should I be pleased with my doctoring?

undoctored

I believe that in the spring I will ty this over again, but it was still worth a try.

John, hate to say it, but I just can't see much difference between the before and after

the steam looks a bit spotty, I like it better before.

It's a great engine, John, but I'm not sure the enhancements significantly improve the picture.  Given your superb photoshop skills I think you can do a lot better.  What about the addition of a dramatic backdrop?  Other than adding the steam, what exactly did you do?  It's impossible to see both pictures at once, making a detailed comparison difficult.

I'll never forget the magnificent job you did on the TWT 461, making it look like it was really flying.

I was bored, but have to admit that I really cant see well enough to do well. All I was after was a more Steam atmosphere.

The fact is, I probably should wait till I can see better before attempting things like that. Next Spring I have some cool ideas.

i prefer the first undoctored one  the steam in the second one just makes it look blurry and unfocused .
No offense intended

To be honest John it was better before, the second to me looks as if you have just used a flash gun so a couple of areas are highlighted.

Sorry John, it looks like the sun got in the camera.

It would be better if the angle was from below, as if the viewer was looking at a real engine, with a sky-blue backdrop.

Then you would see my messy living room
To be honest I realize that I need to wait till I am able to see better before messing with too many photos.

You could find a photo of an actual loco, match up the camera angle and photograph the Bowman. Then superimpose the loco onto the photo.

If you had a rolling road you'd get the motion blur on the wheels too!

I might just have to try that with one of my Mamods!!

I like the before picture better.  Nice to see those accessories getting some use.  I still love that "High Speed Trains" sign.

Nice photo.
