trackI am soon to be getting a mamod loco box set with an open wagon, a log wagona and a green loco. COuld anyone please tell me the track amount typical of one of these sets?

Oops, a bit short. It is actually 16 curved sections, which are required to make a full circle.
Track is normally sold in boxes of 8 sections, curved or straight. It is possible to buy it individually.

if you need extra track, chasteam sell individual ones for £3.00, a bit cheaper than other outlets.

I just found that out running my SL1K at the permanent layout at my local model engineering soc.

I still have the original oval plus a bit of extra track for running at home........ at the moment
