TrailersI don't know if we've done this but just in case..... a few trailers to slow down those run away mobiles.
First a couple of Wilesco examples. This first pic is a Wilesco Water Cart. I don't know when they first made these but their are at least 5 colour versions I know of. This is the bog standard one.
And here's a couple of Wilesco Log Trailers. The one on the left is a MF example and the one on the right a black / brass one. I like these and think they are a better model than the Mamod example.
Now on to Mamod. This is Mamod's Water Cart. I think this is the only offical version (for now).
Mamod's Log Trailer. This can come with the older grey or brown logs, modern wooden logs and even, with the kit, no logs at all.
Mamod also do a very useful Open Trailer. I like this. Again I think only ever one version and it's only the box that has changed over the last (nearly) 40 years.
Finally, a couple of odd trailers. The Living Wagon is from Forest Classics and is ok. The Water Cart, I haven't a clue. If I had to guess I'd say German and from the 30's. This is one of the projects (I never get round to) where I'm going to restore it and put it behind one of my older German engines.
So what do people think? Can you have to many trailers?

Great collection Manx!
I dont no what you class by official versions of the water cart. Ones painted at Mamod for Forest Classics etc or ones done by a company themselves

Now with Mamod this seems to be getting difficult. I guess we can all have different views but for me, for now. Mamod fine, Forest Classics still ok (models made at Mamod factory), Steam4fun not really, Sandra totally no.
But that's just my view.

See, that's the trouble with this forum. Always making me spend more money. However, I think no more trailers for now.
But...... never say never.

The body off the open wagon is the same one as the body on the steam wagon.

On the new trailers yes, however the original Malins open wagon used a longer narrower body.

My OW1 and box are exactly like yours. I bought it for $10 on Ebay but ended up paying $20 for shipping. I still think it was a good deal.

I totally agree. These things are slowly going up in value and a good trailer, with box is worth having.

It is true, you do learn something new everyday.

The mamod water cart is just a mamod boiler
also if you put water in it it would just come straight out that pipe at the back

At least Wilesco put a tap on theirs.

A bit of solder, or even better an external tap would fix that

get a bit of rubber pipe that slips over the pipe and seal up one end by melting it or something. When you want to get the water out you just remove the bit of rubber pipe.

I still need an OW and log trailer
I've not bothered much about them, but they are on the list. Somewhere down towards the bottom

Manx, my Mamod water cart had the hub caps from the mobiles on it. I haven't seen any others with them, so I think it was a case of them having run out of the black hub caps and had to make do.
The box, though, showed the black hub caps in place...

Nice trailers Manxman, I have the black and red wilesco log trailer, as seen in one of my vids
I think the only other one I need is an open wagon.

Nice collection of carts, Manx. You certainly seem to be expanding on the mobile theme I love that little unknown water cart in the bottom pic.

Why not. They are fun. The Mamod Log Wagons can go for quite low prices. They tend to only get expensive when they have a full set of logs and a box.
That odd little Water Cart I got, I only paid a couple of pound for. If I ever do anything with it, it will have been worth the money.

I just haven't watched them, but now I will.
