V-4 engineHas anyone here seen or heard of a V-4 oscillating engine designed by Jan Gunnarsson?
I recall the plans being in a book titled Steam and Stirling: Engines You Can Build. The one copy in my local library is out untill end of the month
This is an engine I would like to build and would apperciate any comments on the design.
Thanks,

I want to make a model ship one day made with two (2) in line 3 cylinder engines, slide valve of coarse! One for each proppeller.

Why?
Surely an in-line 3 would be perfectly acceptable?

I was thinkimg one big one, if i had two, and one leaked more that another, one engine wouldn't get the same pressure and it would constantly turn.

Love to see some pics - my old SP3 crane lifted 4 lbs, the new SP5 is built for 7.

Also, at two and a half, the rubber band belt snapped. 2 1/2 is pretty good for all belt drive, too. impressed me

Yes, if you scroll down a ways there is a picture of the V-4. I remember looking through this book years ago, and will have access to a copy at the end of the month.
I also saw a photo of one from the Cabin Fever expo in the states, but no other comments
