V-4 engine

Has anyone here seen or heard of a V-4 oscillating engine designed by Jan Gunnarsson?

I recall the plans being in a book titled Steam and Stirling: Engines You Can Build. The one copy in my local library is out untill end of the month

This is an engine I would like to build and would apperciate any comments on the design.

Thanks,
Knowsnothin

is it this ?

The engine on the top of the page is one serious piece of metalwork!

I have seen a V-8, built up of unit construction V-2s

I want to make a model ship one day made with two (2) in line 3 cylinder engines, slide valve of coarse! One for each proppeller.

Why?

Surely an in-line 3 would be perfectly acceptable?

Well, i want to make a big, like model cargo ship with two props.

Maybe - two boilers as well? or one big one?

I was thinkimg one big one, if i had two, and one leaked more that another, one engine wouldn't get the same pressure and it would constantly turn.

spokesman, did i ever tell you i steamed my TE1A crane??? Lifted 2 1/2 pounds of weight!!! No electric motors to help either!!! That might not be all it can lift, thats all the water i could fit in the container.

Love to see some pics - my old SP3 crane lifted 4 lbs, the new SP5 is built for 7.

Also, at two and a half, the rubber band belt snapped. 2 1/2 is pretty good for all belt drive, too. impressed me

You need gears or a chain - blets slip or as in your case snap!

Well, i have a lot of gears, but they are all to small, anf they are new erector, not the ones with the set screws. I have no sprockets.

Yes, if you scroll down a ways there is a picture of the V-4. I remember looking through this book years ago, and will have access to a copy at the end of the month.

I also saw a photo of one from the Cabin Fever expo in the states, but no other comments
