Vaccum forms when refilling my old steam planta little water shows in water guage glass, but after a while hand pumping- I hear this gurgling noise (reserviour is empty) , then the glass is full.
how can I stop a vaccum

I have a Cheddar Proteus boiler, and this has a poppit valve, which is a small ballbearing in between two small 'O' rings, and as the boiler cools you can hear the ballbearing clattering away releasing the pressure which stops the boiler from self filling.

Hope this helps. It is a straight connector, a nut, 'O' ring or rubber washer and a ballbearing. And this boiler runs at 90psi/6 bar.
