Virtual Meccano

This is an interesting link, I think :

http://www.virtualmec.com/

Perhaps well known for you but new for me.
Roly Williams

A clever idea, but not cheap. I'd rather have the real thing.
Chris

I had a go with the free trial version once to try and work out what additional bits I needed for something, but I found it fairly slow to use.

I am sure that with more use it would get much quicker though.  I can't remember what the free restriction was, I think it was at least save disabled.  I wasn't prepared to pay the price for the full version.

Unfortunately, I don't have the real thing at home and I find it's not easy to begin for a newbie like me lost in a country like mine.

Belgium = no steam engine and no Meccano...

And no bank anymore !

What about Maldegem? They had Standard Gauge Locos, Narrow Gauge Locos, Road Steamers, Stationary Steam Engines , Models and even some Toy Steam Engines when I was last there.
I'm almost certain there was some Meccano there too

Maldegem Museum ?

That's a good idea.

But I was talking about second-hand Meccano and steam engines cause I prefer the vintage ones.

Second hand Meccano often shows up on Ebay. There are a couple of sellers who specialise in it and have Ebay shops. Meccanoman is one who has loads of parts and sometimes complete sets.

Thanks for your advice, Roly.

Here's another interesting link of a real thing-like in Germany : Metallus.

They propose more than one thousand different parts for Meccano, Märklin and... Trix since 2008, even in Delrin but for particular parts only.

Mdeccanoman also has a very good (if not cheap) website.  Worth noting that some of the far cheaper second quality stuff on the website is still good enough.
