Wanted - broken drive band for Mamod TE1aI'm being unashamedly cheap! Looking to use a drive band for use as a bending spring to stop 1/8" copper pipe from kinking when bending it!
Seems a waste to buy a new one and have to cut it!
Will pay P&P!
Heheh!

Have you tried sand or filling it with water, blocking both ends and freezing it, then bend it when it is frozen.

Or salt, and then dissolve it out with hot water.

Go with one of those ideas above. Or to make it soft and flexible by getting it SUPER MEGA hot with a torch. Then let it cool by itself, dont put water on it to sool it other wise you'll anneal it and then the copper wil be hard as a rock.

Not quite as cheap as a broken drive band, but still not ridiculously expensive; I bought a proper pipe bending tool for small pipes. I can't remember where I got it but it's made by Record so a Google search should find it. It can be operated in one hand and is really quick and simple to use. Anybody who has a copy of my booklet can see a photo of it in there. (Oh well, I haven't plugged it for a while )
