Cheers guys!
Bit of a worry to start with, she were just laid in the corner like, and her mother were bleating like buggery at her. So... we tipped owd yowey on her back and milked her, put it in a bottle, and bottle fed her. She weren't hungry, so she must have just been tired. Then a bit later she got up, had a yawn, walked around a bit, had some milk, and then they both laid down together!
I tell you summat, sheep milk don't half taste good

Aye lad it's rate good! Going too well... we're Chantrys and good luck ISN'T something which we have.
Summats will cock up down the line somewhere I'd bet on it
Back to 4 gimmers/yowes and 3 tups now
Wonder if Katy will have a tup or a gimmer... gimmer hopefully!
And I'll be getting one or two more gimmer lambs off Frank Martin (who we got the others off, best breeder out there, he's like 81 year old and still looks after his 200+ Lincolns, and was on that programme about them a bit back!!).
Ooo and might be getting a yowe and gimmer lamb off another bloke!!
So will have at least 10 Lincolns by the end of lambing!

That's odd. Tom sighs when he says his favourite name for the lamb.
I just rolled Glenda off my tongue,

Any pics of the new arrival Jimbo?
It is tradition
|
James
|
Naa lad they were all blurred, will do it weekend!!
Gladice is what one lass at school suggested
Another who went to primary school with me suggested Gwenda (this rate legend of a teacher from me primary school)
And of course the lass with the sheep suggested her own name
|
Reid
|
Concerned here, James! The naming of the sheep, if done wrong,
may maim the creature's self respect.
Imagine the taunting possible if she were named
Gladice!
I can well see the future--little lambs can be cruel one to another.
Gladice likes lettuce!
Let us leave Gladice
to lettuce, lets!
--
Gladice : she rolled
wrong numbers on dice
and lost her fleece;
she now lives with lice!
We're so glad
we aren't Gladice
cos if we all were
we'd be very Sad-us.
---
Yes, James, a name means a lot to a child.
Give her a name that will hold her head high!
Give Glenda a right proper name like, oh, I don't know....
|
James
|
LMFAO
I dunno, I'll let me mother decide cos I picked the last one!

Glad to hear the good news! Pictures please.
For a name I suggest Griselda (one of my friends actually married a girl called Griselda, but despite the name she was actually very beautiful and from Mexico I think).

Glad for such gnus! Les made a good point.
Any old crappy name will serve if we just put a G in front.
Say, if the babe were a black sheep, she could
be named Glicorice.

I'm pleased she ain't black
If she were, I wouldn't be able to breed with her, her mother, or her father any more!!

The last gimmer to lamb, Katy, is now on her own. And! She won't eat.
Wooo!
So, it's half 8 at night, I ain't had me tea yet, feel like cack, now I've got to go out, catch her, give her some twin lamb calcium drench, move the tups, put her in with the lambs (last years) and then put the tups back in another field
Won't be going out while about 9 though!
Oooooo the joys of keeping sheep
