I have started reading your biography.
I suggest that you read it once more as there are many language (spelling or typing) errors!

nice web site david well done

Very nice David, good to see that someone else has done a page on steam related literature.

Looking forward to seeing it grow.

It's looking good, David.

The only criticism I have at first reading is concerning line breaks. The text looks fine when viewed at full screen but anything less, the lines break in all the wrong places. I assume you did your typing in full screen and put line breaks in manually. I would suggest you type with no line breaks except at the end of each paragraph. The user's browser should sort out line lengths itself as appropriate.

ah back to some editing then i was trying to make sure it would be readable on smaller hand held devices as well as widescreen laptops
could you let me know which is a bad page and i will have a go at fixing it.

It applies to all pages with several lines of text. The worst, I think, is the "about me" page.

i'll have a go at altering the about me page now and if you could look again later and see if has improved i can do the others over the course of the week

David, huge improvement...it is getting quite readable.

Typos etc. have been noted and just mean you and/or wife should re-read it to find them.

One thing that seemed odd was that to click on some brands of engines from the home page (Kookaburra for example)...takes you to a blank page.  Perhaps all the page names are not yet linked to writeups and photos.

Overall a wealth of info and nice photos...thanks for the effort!

Ah sorry about that i wanted to find as many bugs as possible before being overcome with corrections i meant to put in the opening statement that in the gallery it is only populated down as far as Hornby i'm hoping to do at least one page a day from now so  Kookaburra is tommorows entry

That's much better already.

I know from experience that it takes a long time to get everything just right and feedback from others, using different browsers on different machines with different OSs and even just different prefered ways of looking at things, is invaluable.

You can say that again as a programmer (for 28 years) and a web developer for 11 I can say that if I had a quid for every hour spent trying to make IE behave correctly I would be a rich man.

Use
Code:
<p></p>
tags for your paragraphs if you are using HTML and change any spacing with CSS, simple is best.

All the Best

£1 an hour? That's not going to make you rich

David, great web site, the Bing catalogue information was especially interesting for someone who is just starting to get into German made locos, I didn't realise they covered such a long period, must start looking for the later ones.

Whatever it is it's not showing on the screen in this forum. However, it shows up in the edit window as div inside angle brackets, which means it's an HTML code. It's not one that I remember off the top of my head.

just finished populating all the individual pages with at least some content. now to start at the beggining and beef it up a bit.

any comments so far.
